7th Day
Days getting longer, but colder, and the sun is almost shining again

ventually the forecast kicks in and while it's getting colder, the sun shines nicely into the forest. As today was the first working day after the holiday season, there was little time to get the right shot but I think I got what I was striving for.
7th Day - Bright Mist
Today's shot was almost forgotten -- too much to do in the office. When I took a break I remembered the contest and took this picture from the kitchen window, some nice sunlit mist on the mountains in the South East. The format of 600 px is simply too small to show all the detail, but it's one of the views I hoped I had gotten in the past years. Hope you too like it.

Thanks for your kind comments. And to add to the beauty of the area, Austria is one of the countries with the most holidays, as well :) On January, 6th, it's "Epiphania", also called the "Three Kings". As it was a Tuesday, most people asked one more day off and so most people (and all schools anyway) started on Wednesday.
But now we'll have a tough time until Easter, no holidays before this. But carnival is already kicking in and there'll be lots of events until February, 24th (severely hitting the power of the Austrian workforce but magically raising the turnover of the alcohol producing industries …
Me wonders why today (Wednesday) was the first working day after the holidays. Logic tells me it should have been Monday. Do you have some a couple of special national holidays? Stunning photograph. You've captured the beauty of the landscape very successfully.

Wow, really stunning! It's obviously very cold, but the orange in the back gives that warmer feeling you can only have in the cold. Being Dutch and having moved to Brazil I miss that sometimes. Funny how both our views are stunning (mine is an ocean view) but sooo different. At least yours changes during the seasons.

That is SUPERB! The soft pastel pallette and the beautiful diagonal composition with the sun just peeking over the top right area, is just fantastic. Very nicely done. What a beautiful scene to be able to shoot!
