hen I read all the nice comments on yesterday's photo, I decided to do at least one more. Got my kids dressed warm to hike our village in search of interesting pictures. After having a nice cup of hot chocolate at the coffee shop in the village, the sky was dark enough to allow for another round of evening shots.

3rd Day - Uphill They Go

Today's picture shows what you couldn't see yesterday -- the part of the road where the snowplow had come from. It was a lot darker today as it was almost 6 p.m. and it took a 30 seconds exposure at f:16 to get this scene. There were two cars going up the hill the same time and their beams lit the place nicely. I had to enhance only the dark parts (using a technique known as "silver mask" in the past ages of dark room processing) and I'm pretty pleased with the outcome -- please compare with the original shot "out of the cam" as seen in the Gallery at the end of this page…
