Rain and sun turned snow into ice
W
hen it stopped snowing we got lots of rain and with today's sunshine, all the fluffy snow turned into hard and sometimes dangerous ice.
Day 25th - Sun And Ice
Temperatures are up once more which takes it's toll at all the nice snow. In the shadows it's cold enough to freeze the melting waters into clear ice -- watching your step when getting into the shadows to prevent to fall is a good idea these days. The various trails of straying animals got widened by the rain which looks nice when the low sun models the shadows.
Still In This Thirty Day Challenge
Thanks to Andromeda 5000 for providing the raw list. It didn't appear to be a challenge at first, but believe me, it is -- if you have a life, too, as the number of drop-outs will tell you. I love those tree picked out against the sky, great detail in them.
It looks as though you took this in the soft late pinkish sunset light, I like the pink sparkle of the ice in the foreground.

Beautiful! I like the composition of the shot, the air of serenity and the sparkle of the snow.
Wow, gorgeous colours and lighting. I can't help feeling that the little bit of twiggy thing in the foreground would be well taken away with the patch tool to keep the eye roving up through the frame to the trees at the top. As it is, my eye keeps hopping between the two in a disconcerting way. But it's a minor nitpick. The low angle and low light makes this a stunner! Well done.
The trees in silhouette are very striking, they look very hairy with all those bare branches jutting out. The snow looks like thousands of tiny crystals. Very beautiful.
