18th Day
Rain outdoors and some leftovers from X-mas sparked an idea…

s today wasn't exactly great outdoors, I used some of those sparklers I had left over from X-mas to make a multi-exposure picture of that magic.
Day 18th - Multi-Sparkling
As I had dealt with light trails since day one of this challenge, I thought I should try to run a long exposure shot of some sparklers. As it's burning too slow, the result wasn't very satisfying -- a big white blob in the middle of the frame with some white trails coming out of it. Looked like a macro shot of the beard of Santa… Then I changed the concept and did several exposures which I overlaid in Photoshop later. Adjusting the gradients added quite some depth which makes it look even more real than the real thing imo.
Still In This Thirty Day Challenge
Thanks to Andromeda 5000 for providing the raw list. It didn't appear to be a challenge at first, but believe me, it is -- if you have a life, too, as the number of drop-outs will tell you. Fabulous idea. Sparklers can be tricky beasts, but it never occured to me to use a multi exposure since they move so much. Great idea and a wonderful result. Very well done.

This is very impressive and the first word that comes to mind is "dynamic". Definitely has the wow factor.
