16th Day
Between Bavaria and Switzerland in the late afternoon

inally we had a nice day today. It got a bit cloudy in the afternoon, but still quite nice to go for the "near sunset" shot I was waiting for. My son and I went for a hike and he showed me his favorite places in the forest -- plenty of frozen creeks in the shadows, too dark to get a great pic anyway.
Day 16th - 20 Minutes 'til Sunset
We took a walk over the border to Bavaria and when we returned I took this picture. The big mountains in the distance are in Switzerland and some 300 meters behind the cam is Bavaria and our home is about 500 meters down the road. If you look closely, you can see my son sliding down the frozen trails.

I so envy you! We don't have winter in my country so looking at your photos is always a treat. Really pretty colors, especially with them blending into each other. This is like a winter wonderland painting, hard to believe magical looking places like this do exist :)

Well, the power lines… I've called those guys but they said they can't make it before February, 10th, so I had either to wait or to shoot the way it is now (with the option to fix it in post).
Oh, it's such a shame about power lines, but there is not really much we can do about them. This picture is superb though! Beautiful colours, receding shades, wonderful lines and layers, and just a magical atmosphere that makes me want to get lost in it. Fantastic stuff!
the pinks and lavenders are so beautiful with the snow, the plane trails in the sky really add to it....marvelous!!
This is absolutely lovely. And this is why I love winter. The setting sun highlights every thing so nicely - probably why dusk is my favorite time of day. Next time, could you take the power lines down before you take the shot? :) Other than that, it is completely timeless.
He's on the right track, just before those trees on the right of the street. Guess that's the downside of 20 mm lenses :)
What beautiful beautiful colours. This is truely resplendant and no, try as hard as I can, I can't see your some. Maybe I need new glasses.
